First collector's item issue: Spider-Man “Torment, Part 1”

Part of the second release of Marvel editions published by Washington Green and hand-signed by the late great Stan Lee, who designed all of the classic Marvel comic-book characters back in the 60's, this superb giclée print on paper was one of only four covers specially selected by Stan Lee for a fine art portfolio to feature 'The Amazing Spider-man'.

Comes signed and numbered, with the original certificate of authenticity from Washington Green.

The cover art was done by Todd McFarlane, with the internal storyline written, pencilled and inked by Todd McFarlane, coloured by Bob Sharen, and lettered by Rick Parker.

Backstory:

High above the claustrophobic city streets swings the amazing Spider-Man. He happens upon a mugging taking place in the back alley, and lowing himself down to the street, orders the mugger to leave his victim alone. The thief opens fire, however, he easily dodges the bullets and crushes the weapon with his bare hands, leaving the crook webbed up for the authorities.

Meanwhile, at a mansion, the sounds of beating drums can be heard. A mysterious woman beating the drums then calls out, ordering someone, or something to rise. Elsewhere, the Lizard emerges from the brackish waters, more savage then ever before.

All our wooden frames are expertly hand-made from locally sourced FSC® certified timber.

Colour

Our quality, tulip wood frames come with a solid, hand-sprayed finish in either Black or White, or Natural Oak with a wax finish.

Mount Style

Select either Full Bleed (flush to the edge), Floating, or Window Mount (using 100% pure cotton, archival, acid-free mount board).

Glazing

Select from either Perspex® Clear Cast (a lightweight, shatter-resistant, economical option), conservation grade Artshield UV or a superior Optium Museum Acrylic® - both are ultra clear, scratch-resistant, and provide protection by filtering out harmful UV light that can damage and fade works over time. Optium Museum Acrylic® is also anti-reflective.
