Original silkscreened cardboard window card advertising trumpeter and big band swing jazz bandleader Les Elgart, performing at Dunn's Pavilion in 1961.
Measuring 35.5 x 56cm (14 x 22"), this poster uses Day-Glo florescent inks that look great in regular light, but really explode under a purple blacklight, very popular in teenage bedrooms back in the day.
This classic, original 1961 poster was created to advertise trumpeter and swing jazz bandleader Les Elgart, performing on Wednesday August 2, 1961 at Dunn's Pavilion in Bala, Ontario.
Lester 'Les' Elgart is best-known to pop music fans as the composer of 'Bandstand Boogie', which Dick Clark used as the theme song for his popular TV programme American Bandstand.
Now called 'The KEE to Bala', Dunn's Pavilion was a concert venue and bar located on Lake Muskoka in the town of Bala, Ontario Canada.
Originally purchased by owner Gerry Dunn in 1929 and built into a concert hall in 1930 with the aim of hosting big bands, it went on to feature big names including Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Les Brown and the Fabulous Dorsey Brothers.
Condition notes: NM-
This vintage poster grades to Near Mint- condition with light toning along the left and right sides, tearing in the bottom left corner, and lightly bumped corners. COA available on request.

1. Colour
Our quality, tulip wood frames come with a solid, hand-sprayed finish in either Black or White, or Natural Oak with a wax finish.
2. Mount Style
Select either Full Bleed (flush to the edge), Floating, or Window Mount (using 100% pure cotton, archival, acid-free mount board).
3. Glazing
Select either Perspex® Clear Cast (a lightweight, shatter-resistant, economical option), conservation grade Artshield UV or a superior Optium Museum Acrylic® – both are ultra clear, scratch-resistant, and provide protection by filtering out harmful UV light that can damage and fade works over time. Optium Museum Acrylic® is also anti-reflective.
