Speedy Graphito

Renowned Paris-born graffiti artist Speedy Graphito (Olivier Rizzo) was one of the original pioneers of the French Street Art movement in the early 80’s, inspiring a generation of contemporary artists with his bold, iconic and innovative style. After graduating from the School of Art Estienne in Paris in 1983, Olivier began making his first stencils on the street with the group X Moulinex before starting to paint under the moniker of Speedy Graphito. Although his work has evolved a great deal over the past few decades, Speedy’s style has become known for his satirical references to consumer culture, commercialism and pop-culture icons, exploring and re-interpreting the context of our cultural landscape. He has participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions throughout the world, and his highly sought-after work has been acquired by numerous private and public collections as his influence on the international art market continues to grow. While the majority of his work is paint-based, favouring canvas and murals, he is also highly regarded for his work in other media including sculpture, large-scale installations, video and photography, and he has participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions throughout the world. His highly sought-after work has also been acquired by several private and public collections as his influence on the international art market continues to grow. He lives and works in Paris, France and Los Angeles, USA.
